Advice for New Bloggers!

Hello, fellow bloggers! I've recently received a few comments asking for some advice for new bloggers. So, I figured I'd just make a post for you all.
First off, I just want to say, thank you all so much for visiting my blog and commenting and participating in stuff. Without you wonderful followers, there'd be no blog and no need for this post. So thank you. Also, thank you all for asking me about some blogging tips. That means I'm doing something right and that legit means a lot that you think my blog is good enough that you'd ask me for advice on blogs and blogging.

Some really basic advice that anyone is likely to give, but that truly will help, even if it seems like it won't, is don't give up. Keep blogging, blogging, blogging - nonstop, everyday. Don't overblog and post more than 2-3 things a day (I've lost followers by doing that), but have at least 1 post scheduled to post everyday. The more posts your blog has, the more times it's likely to show up on Google or other search engines, the more likely you are to gain followers, which makes your blog more successful.
Also, make sure that you blog about something you love and are interested in. DO NOT try to start a blog about something you hate or you really don't care about, just to try to get followers or to have something to do. You won't stick with it; you'll hate it; and it won't get anywhere.

So, I previously mentioned being shown in search engines, such as Google and Yahoo. This is a major contributor to viewers. If you go to Google or Yahoo or Bing, there is usually a link somewhere near the top of the page where you can add your link to the search engine. Be sure to do this to most websites that allow. Publicity is a major, major factor to getting followers and viewers and in my mind, the more people that want to read your blog, the better it is and the more successful it is.
You also want to create facebook pages and twitter accounts and tell all of your friends to "like", "follow" or "add as friend" to help spread the word of your blog. The more people that know, the more people will talk and share and the more people will come to your blog.

Another really important little piece of advice that I don't really think is talked about much when people ask for help with their blogs, is to contact people who know about the area you want to take your blog in the direction of. Don't be shy when it comes to asking for things for your blog. That's what email was created for! I never talk on the phone to people; I'm too shy; But I ALWAYS email people for help with things.
Most people are more than willing to help you out, but others aren't so friendly and WILL tell you no. Do NOT let these people get to you. Just say "Thanks anyway" and move on. Email some other people and companies. Keep going. Because there's only a few bad apples in the bushel, the rest are more than eager to help you out, so don't let the rotten ones keep you from finding the golden ones.
For example, if you want to do a review blog, such as PrincessReviews, you should be contacting authors, publishers, and even fellow review bloggers, for some help. Asking for items to review, asking to do interviews, and asking to have guest posts sent to you are what helps make a blog great.
Photography blogs should contact photographers- to get tips, to see about using some pictures, etc - education blogs should contact schools and teachers, etc. Find professionals that know a lot about what you want to blog about and contact them. Not just one, but lots.

A lot of blogs and websites do blog tours and blog hops. These are things where there is a common theme and people go from blog to blog to see posts about this theme. These are great to get into when you are first starting your blog off, as they bring lots of traffic to your blog and to other blogs.
To find some that are still in the "sign up" phase, just google blog tours or blog hops. You're sure to find a lot to choose from.

Those are the really big, main pointers that I feel most starting bloggers should know. If you have any questions, or want to further contact me about it, feel free to leave a comment or email me! I will return your comment/email. Always.

Thank you and good luck!
Happy Blogging!
